Fishing Report Aug. 9th-Aug.16th
The lake is down approximatly 2.5 feet and the fishing is a bit slower if your not out deeper. the bite is slower on top water unless you down size topwaters or upsize to full size topwaters. you have to get out there early if you dont want to stay for the dog day heat that we are in, 5 am is the best time to be out there beating the bank. throw pro blue pearl colored swimbaits for the shallow fish. throwing a light texas rig has worked in the shallow water. 3/16oz is best and throw that with any creature bait you like that has alot of action like ribbontail worms or creature baits. now out deeper its a bit harder due to the heat and boat traffic. the bait ive gotten most of my bites on has been a spotchoker underspin with a 3.3 pro blue keitech/ sexy herring and slowly reeling on deep humps,,longpoints, and bluff walls. Another great rig is the dropshot with the blue lily/ morning dawn color worm and throw it on humps and drag it on the rocks, the bigger rocks have held bigger fish but you can still catch good ones on fist sized rocks. this is a great time of the year for quality fish but not good for use due to the heat but you can still catch them so get out there and have fun!
We give more than just the 3 basics of fishing. we give you in depth information that you can only get from experience.
